[13] Effect of No Right Turn Regulation Focusing on Travel Distance, Travel Time, and Fuel Consumption
Keywords:no right turn, grid road network, travel distance, travel time, fuel consumption
In this research, we derived the mean values and probability density functions of travel distance, travel time, and fuel consumption between the origin and destination points uniformly distributed on a grid road network. In addition, we compared the results before and after the imposition of no right turn regulation. As a result, it was found that for cities of a certain size, no right turn regulation has the potential to reduce travel time and fuel consumption. We also showed that the bifurcation point can be represented by the solution of a simple equation.
