[99] Quantitative analysis on sequential road landscape with overlapping of utility poles and mountains
Keywords:overlapping landscape, sequential road landscape, utility poles, Mt. Tsukuba, landmark
Mt. Tsukuba, in the southern part of Ibaraki, is one of the 100 most well-known mountains in Japan, and an important tourism resource. However, unsightly utility poles often come into view when viewing Mt. Tsukuba. In fact, in highly desired viewing and photo shooting locations, a number of obstructive utility poles disrupt the otherwise natural beauty of the Mt. Tsukuba. The view of Mt. Tsukuba from the road becomes more important for the development of autonomous driving, because the driver can afford to look at the landscape. In this study, we focus on the overlapping landscape between utility poles and Mt. Tsukuba. And we quantitatively analyze the effects of utility poles on the Mt. Tsukuba landscape by using location and height data of Mt. Tsukuba and utility poles.
