- Focusing on the Share of Parking Space -
Keywords:detached housing estates, sharing, parking
Planned detached housing estates in the 1970s have seen an increase in vacant houses, resulting in the deterioration of the living environment due to the aging population and changing lifestyles. This paper examines the feasibility of space sharing to utilize vacant space in residential areas in planned detached housing estates. A web-based questionnaire survey was conducted on the willingness to use space sharing in detached housing estates from the standpoints of users, providers, and neighborhood residents. Interviews were also conducted with business operators regarding the introduction of parking services. The results show that the intention to use parking space sharing services in detached housing estates is high. According to the operators, many residents' concerns could be addressed within the existing services. Therefore, there is potential for the development of parking space sharing in detached housing estates.
