[114] An analysis of perceptions of the consideration for women in the living environment after disaster

In the aftermath of disasters,many survivors face living environment problems that is one of the most prominent issues in the recovery process. This study aims to clarify the relationship between perceptions of anxiety and intention of residents focusing on the issue of gender considerations in evacuation shelters. A questionnaire survey was conducted to residents in the Kirime district of Inami Town, Wakayama Prefecture which is an earthquake and tsunami prone area. To appear the relationship, we use one-way analysis of variance and multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that there are differences in cognitive relationships between men over the age of 61 and other attributes. This study concludes the importance of promoting consideration for women in the aftermath of disasters.
