[124] A Study on the Elucidation of the Structural Characteristics of the Water Management System that Support the Cultural Landscape and its Conservation in Hinenosho-Ohgi Village

This study aimed to consider measures for the conservation of self-sustaining cultural landscape, based on understanding the structural characteristics of the water management system consisting of topography, river terrace, waterway, irrigation pond and weir, and the role of the land improvement district in relation to its maintenance in Hinenosho-Ohgi village, Izumisano city. It was shown that the main structural characteristics of the water management system were based on 6 river terraces and consist of 7 waterways, 7 irrigation ponds and 6 weirs. We estimated the number of households in terms of the layout of houses in the waterway basin and the number of farmlands, compared the human burden per household for conservation of each waterway. In conclusion, we showed the way to allocate in the basin of the waterway with a small burden to contribute to the conservation of the waterway with a large burden.
