In urban areas in Japan, community parks have been planned and developed as familiar open spaces. On the other hand, many "children's playgrounds" have been developed to cover the lack of community parks. In this study, the actual situation and issues in the operation of the "children's playground" system in municipalities in the metropolitan suburbs were grasped, and the future of the system operation was considered. . The results are as follows (1) The function of "children's playgrounds" needs to be redesigned. (2) "Children's playgrounds" have management and operational problems. (3) It is necessary to include "children's playgrounds" in the open space plan.
