The plenary panel discussion is intended to provide for an open exchange of views about how an aging society affects our priorities and concerns for vehicle safety. The panel will discuss technologies and policies related to enhancing overall safety as the driving population ages. Some potential discussion topics include methods and criteria to evaluate older driver training effectiveness; the role of advanced vehicle technologies ranging from navigational aids to driving automation systems; and how to encourage safety technologies for an aging society.
