Factice is given when vegetable oils are crosslinked with sulfur, sulfur-monochloride, etc., and used as a processing aid in rubber compound. It is non-thermoplastic and has several excellent effects. It advances the dispersion of fillers and other agents, gives dimensional stability in molding process, prevents bleeding of liquids, and improves the surface texture and feel of vulcanized rubber.
