[SS-9] Strategic and Policy-making Discussions on Future Space Transportation System (to be discussed in Japanese)

A new movement has begun towards the goal of the very low-cost space transportation and P2P (point to point) transportation system by collaborative scheme of government and commercial sector. Japanese government needs fundamental cost down of space transportation system in order to enlarge the space activities and to gain more competitiveness in future, and civil side such as SLA (Space Liner Association) and new space ventures are pursuing to industrialize and to create a huge commercial market of the passenger-carrier transportation system using space flight technologies. A special committee organized by MEXT has been held for one year to conceptualize the roadmap of the new transportation system development, which accelerates these activities. In this special session, the activities of SLA will be introduced, followed by panel discussions including audience as to the required technologies, development scenario and strategy to realize such an extremely low-cost transportation system in future.
