[R4P-01] Mineralogical characteristics of deep underground granite biosphere

Microbial ecosystem in the groundwater in deep granite, but how the groundwater and granite provide habitable environment is unclear. To investigate this problem, we characterized in detail altered granite. Calcites of various occurrence and fine pyrite particles were found. They may be generated bi microorganisms. Petrographic thin sections were stained with SYBR Green I and analyzed by fluorescence microscopy. Concentration of DNA was observed in altered plagioclase and on fractured surfaced.
