[R5-01] Mineralogical investigation of enstatite whiskers in Paris primitive CM chondrite by using SR-nanoXCT and TEM

We investigated enstatite whisker in Paris primitive CM chondrite by SR-XCT and TEM. Observed enstatite is elongated to [100] direction and has stacking fault on the (100) plane. Such features of this enstatite resemble those of CP-IDPs. Lack of screw dislocation along [100], the curved shape, and the presence of fractures indicate this crystal suffered deformation. These observations indicate enstatite whisker is a building block of chondrite parent body as CP-IDPs.
