[R5-06] Mineralogical and petrological study of a dark inclusion in the NWA 1723 L chondrite
Keywords:Ordinary chondrites, Dark inclusions
Dark inclusion (DI) in the NWA 1723 L chondrite consists of very small chondrules, mostly porphyritic textural type, and fine-grained matrix made of olivine, low-Ca pyroxene, albite and tetrataenite. Chondrules (<100µm) are smaller than those in any chondrite groups. In addition, DI shows a high matrix/chondrule volume ratio. These petrological characteristics are dissimilar not only to host L chondrite, but also to any types of chondrite meteorites.
