[R6-02] Magmatic Processes of volcanic rocks in Chuuk Islans, Micronesia
Keywords:Alkaline basalt, Chuuk, Caroline Islands
The Cheuk Islands consist of the Chuk Atoll and several volcanoes located in it. Geological survey was conducted on Weno Island out of these, and a geological map was created. The collected rock is divided into 13 lava by thin section observation and analysis by XRF. These lava are much alkaline basalt and have a wide composition from basalt to trakite. The last active dike is Baysanite, and the usual lava also has the characteristics of WPA.The stratigraphy and compositional changes of lava are classified into three activity stages, including primary magma.
