Recent seismic reflection surveys showed spatial variation of Moho reflection. As seismic wave velocity is sensitive to crack, we measured seismic wave velocity of gabbro and peridotite during brittle deformation, and discuss the effect of crack on seismic velocity and reflectivity at the Moho. Gabbro showed large decrease in seismic velocity relative to peridotite during deformation. This suggests that the difference in seismic velocity between gabbro and peridotite is increased by brittle deformation and reflectivity can change.
