[1217] Application of Powder Compacted Aggregate to Crack Self Healing Mortar
Keywords:powder compacted aggregate, self-healing, sludge, water flow reduction, water pass test
Previous studies conducted on recycling concrete by powder compaction have shown that it is possible to form solid compacts of cementitious materials by combining them with sludge powder. In this context, experiments were conducted to apply compaction of different cementitious powders to enclose self-healing components in mortar as a partial sand replacement. A water pass test through average crack width of 0.3 mm was conducted and after second vacuuming of the specimen it was shown that inclusion of the powder compacted aggregates contributes to water flow reduction.
