Keywords:concrete-filled steel tube、cyclic behavior、local buckling、stress-strain model、ultimate drift

A numerical model using lumped-plasticity approach is developed to simulate cyclic response of concrete-filled steel tube (CFST) piles and validated using global and local responses of existing experimental data. The benchmarked model is then used to conduct a comprehensive parametric study to understand the cyclic flexural behavior and drift at key events of CFST piles. The analysis results showed that the axial load considerably reduces the ultimate drift capacity, and piles with large D/t and high axial load are susceptible to local buckling at small drifts before yielding of the tube.
