Fudo Tetra Corporation is the first company in the world to succeed in developing “Sand Compaction Method”(SCP). Since that time, Fudo Tetra have developed many types of ground improvement methods based on actual works and researches.

Toward a decarbonized society that aims to curb global warming, we have begun a development of carbon storage technology utilizing SCP method as a liquefaction mitigation method. Since granular material mixed with bamboo shred are placed into ground as filling material of SCP, carbon can be stored in the ground in the shape of bamboo shred. The amount of carbon stored in the ground is far greater than the amount of carbon dioxide (CO2) emitted due to operations of construction machinery. Therefore, the total CO2 emission of ground improvement work can be reduced to negative value. This technique is a new type of “Negative emission technology”. The more this technology is used, the more CO2 is reduced.

Also, it has been already confirmed that the pile constructed with recycled crushed stones mixed with bamboo shred shows the same strength and diameter of a conventional sand pile.
