蛍光体の母体材料の構造と発光特性の関係解明を目的に，ガーネット型(Y,Gd)3(Al,Ga)5O12:Mn4+蛍光体を合成し，ガーネット型構造の12配位サイトのカチオン–酸素距離と発光波長が線形関係にあることを明らかにした．
