沸騰水型軽水炉過酷事故におけるSUS304-B₄C溶融固化物中のホウ素の化学形態を明らかにするために、模擬デブリを作製し水蒸気雰囲気による等温保持実験行い、金属組織観察や相同定、ホウ素の蒸発量の測定を行った。
