[Seung-hwan Jeong's Biography]
Education and Training
My academic journey began at the University of Ulsan College of Medicine, where I earned my Bachelor of Science (BS) degree. I commenced my medical journey with a year-long internship at Seoul Asan Medical Center, gaining valuable hands-on experience in various aspects of healthcare. Subsequently, I undertook a four-year residency at the Department of Urology in Seoul National University Hospital. During this period, I had the privilege of learning from seasoned professionals, further developing my surgical skills, and gaining a deep understanding of urologic diseases. I continued my academic pursuits by enrolling at Seoul National University College of Medicine, where I obtained my Master of Science (MS) degree. This academic achievement allowed me to deepen my knowledge and explore new horizons in medical research. Driven by a desire to contribute to the evolving landscape of medical science, I pursued a Ph.D. in bioengineering at the prestigious Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST). This interdisciplinary program equipped me with the tools and knowledge needed to bridge the gap between medicine and bioengineering, opening up exciting possibilities for innovation.

Professional Journey
Following the successful completion of my Ph.D., I embarked on a fellowship at the Department of Urology in Seoul National University Hospital. This phase of my career was instrumental in refining my expertise and enhancing my skills as I collaborated with leading experts in the field of urology. My dedication and contributions to the field did not go unnoticed, leading to my appointment as an associate professor in the Department of Urology. This role allowed me to not only continue my research but also share my knowledge and mentor the next generation of medical professionals.

Research Focus
Throughout my career, my primary research focus has centered on urologic oncology, with a specific emphasis on prostate cancer and urothelial cancers. I have dedicated significant effort to translational research, aiming to bridge the gap between laboratory discoveries and clinical applications. In addition to translational research, I have developed a wide-ranging perspective on genetic therapy and immunotherapy. These cutting-edge approaches hold immense potential for revolutionizing cancer treatment, and I am committed to exploring their applications in urologic oncology. Furthermore, my research interests extend to the field of targeted therapy using antibody-conjugated nanoparticles. This innovative approach holds promise for delivering precise treatments to cancer cells while minimizing damage to healthy tissue.
