[IP-1] The Development of Occupational Therapy and Cultural Impact on Occupational Therapy Services in Indonesia
本発表では、1994年からインドネシアにおける作業療法職の発展から現在の状況、様々な環境における作業療法サービスの提供、そしてインドネシアの作業療法士が直面する課題について説明する。そして，文化的側面の作業療法サービスへの影響について，2022年に行った質的調査に基づきに言及したい。質的調査の結果、伝統的な治療と健康文化が、医学的な治療方法に関連する診断に影響を与えることが確認された。さらに、文化的要素が遵守されているほど、医療的な治療/セラピーに対するコミュニティの拒絶反応が大きく、その逆もまた然りである。インドネシアにおける作業療法に影響を与えるいくつかの要因は、経済・教育レベル、地域の信念や患者の病気に対する認識、伝統的な治療方法、家父長制文化、社会規範、言語、コミュニケーションである。
This paper will describe the development of the occupational therapy profession in Indonesia from 1994 to the current situation, occupational therapy service delivery in various settings, and challenges Indonesian Occupational Therapists to face. The second topic will describe how cultural aspects influence the occupational therapy service (based on the qualitative study done in 2022). The result of the qualitative research documented that traditional healing and health culture influence diagnoses related to medical healing methods. Furthermore, the higher the cultural elements adhered to, the greater the community's rejection of medical healing/therapy and vice versa. Several factors that impact occupational therapy in Indonesia are economic & educational level, local beliefs & patient perceptions of disease, traditional healing methods, patriarchal culture, social norms, language, and communication.
