[P-EM05_2AM1] Characteristics of atmospheric waves in the mesosphere-lower thermosphere (MLT)

Fri. May 2, 2014 9:00 AM - 10:45 AM 424 (4F)

Convener:*Toshitaka Tsuda(Research Institute for Sustainable Humanosphere), Atsuki Shinbori(Research Institute for Sustainable Humanosphere (RISH), Kyoto University), Chair:Yasuhiro Murayama(National Institute of Information and Communications Technology)

In this session, we discuss atmospheric waves and the long-term variation of mean winds in the mesosphere and lower thermosphere (MLT) on the basis of MF, meteor and Mesosphere-Stratosphere-Troposphere (MST) radar observations, which have been widely extended from the equatorial Asia-Oceania to polar regions. Topics on upward and downward coupling between lower atmosphere and ionosphere are also welcome. We invite papers on experiments with ground-based and/or space-borne instruments, theoretical studies, numerical simulations, and development of data analysis systems for various kinds of atmospheric variations in the MLT regions.
