[S-SS34_29AM2] Active faults and paleoseismology

Tue. Apr 29, 2014 11:00 AM - 12:45 PM 502 (5F)

Convener:*Takashi AZUMA(National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology), Nobuhiko Sugito(Faculty of Humanity and Environment, Hosei University), Satoshi Tonai(Department of Applied Science, Faculty of Scienece, Kochi University), Toshikazu Yoshioka(Active Fault and Earthquake Research Center, National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology), Chair:Satoshi Tonai(Department of Applied Science, Faculty of Scienece, Kochi University)

Geologic and historic information on seismic cycles and on the magnitude and source faults of past earthquakes is essential information to understand future large earthquakes. The study of past faulting and seismicity is an important issue for an interdisciplinary community of seismologists, geologists, geomorphologists, archaeologists, and historians.

11:15 AM - 11:30 AM

*Naoki KATO1, Tetsuro HIRONO1, Tsuyoshi ISHIKAWA2, Jun KAMEDA3, Tomoyuki OHTANI4 (1.Department of Earth and Space Science, Graduate School of Science, Osaka University, 2.Kochi Institute for Core Sample Research, Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology, 3.Department of Natural History Sciences, Graduate School of Science, Hokkaido University, 4.Department of Civil Engineering, Gifu University)
