[S-VC51_29PM2] Hydrothermal systems beneath volcanoes

Tue. Apr 29, 2014 4:15 PM - 5:00 PM 312 (3F)

Convener:*Yasuhiro Fujimitsu(Department of Earth Resources Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Kyushu University), Tsuneomi Kagiyama(Graduate School of Science, Kyoto University), Takeshi Ohba(Department of chemistry, School of Science, Tokia University), Chair:Shogo Komori(Institute of Earth Sciences, Academia Sinica)

Hydrothermal systems occur beneath volcanoes depending on different environments. Uderstanding of hydrothermal systems contributes not only to the study of the earth system but also to utilization of geothermal energy and prediction of volcanic eruptions. In this session, the structure and the flow of heat and mass beneath volcanoes are discussed from earth sciences and reservoir engineering.
