Senior high school students show poster presentations on topics in fields of earth and planetary science. We provide an opportunity for senior high school students to give their presentations in the conference and to have discussions with them. This session has been presented as a public outreach session since 2006. The JpGU Publicity and Outreach Committee members are conveners of this session.

[O04-P11] Garnet inclusions of the Himalayan metamorphic rocks of Kali-Gandaki river, Central Nepal.

【概要】
ヒマラヤ山脈カリガンダキ谷地域には，ヒマラヤ造山帯深部で形成された変成岩が見られる．崎元雄厚氏から寄贈された試料を用いて，ヒマラヤ山脈が形成された際にどのような変成作用を受けているかを調べた．主に泥質変成岩の中にどのような鉱物が含まれているか早稲田大学地球科学専修の偏光顕微鏡で観察した．このうち，ざくろ石が含まれるサンプルについては，国立科学博物館の走査型電子顕微鏡を用いて、ざくろ石に包有されている鉱物の種類と化学組成を分析した．その結果，ざくろ石には，ジルコンのほか，石英，黒雲母，電気石，ルチル，チタン鉄鉱が含まれる．これらの鉱物は，ざくろ石が成長しているときに取り込まれたものと考えられる．
