[A-CG30] Material circulations in Terrestrial Ecosystem: Water, Carbon and Nitrogen etc.

Mon. May 25, 2015 4:15 PM - 5:00 PM 301B (3F)

Convener:*Tomomichi Kato(Research Faculty of Agriculture, Hokkaido University), Takashi Hirano(Research Faculty of Agriculture, Hokkaido University), Hisashi Sato(Department of Environmental Geochemical Cycle Research, Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology (JAMSTEC)), Ryuichi Hirata(National Institute for Environmental Studies), Chair:Ryuichi Hirata(National Institute for Environmental Studies)

Terrestrial ecosystem has a great influence on global climate through the material circulations, for ex., water, carbon, nitrogen. To better understand of those behaviors, a great effort has been conducted on developing the approaches and technics: biometric survey, eddy and chamber methods, near and satellite remote sensing, biosphere modeling and so on.
In particular, JapanFlux, founded in 2006 as a researcher's network of CO2, H2O and other trace gas flux measurement, has promoted the multi-disciplinal studies not only for flux measurement community, but also for remote sensing and biosphere modeling communities.
Moreover, integrated research group on land also has contributed to build the interactive networks between Japanese researchers to better understanding of physical and biological processes on land, and wide-area and long-term interactions between land and other biogeochemical components.
This session unites those multi-disciplinal activities, and promotes the oral and poster presentations on the role of terrestrial ecosystem in material circulations of water, carbon, nitrogen, energy and other substances by any approaches and technics. This session takes over former two sessions in last year: A-HW29 and A-CG34.
