海洋・陸上の科学掘削計画の最新情報の紹介と、掘削後のデータ・サンプルの解析・分析結果などの研究成果の報告を目的とする。固体地球科学、古環境学、地球生命科学などの様々な分野からの成果を共有し、掘削を基軸とした学際的研究を推進する。過去１年間に実施されたICDPプロジェクトとIODP航海の概要報告を中心に、過去の掘削航海から得られた最新の研究成果も報告される予定である。掘削科学に関連する新規手法や技術開発研究等の報告も歓迎する。
