Mon. May 25, 2015 10:00 AM - 10:45 AM 102B (1F)

Convener:*Makoto Okada(Department of Earth Sciences, Faculty of Science, Ibaraki University), Yusuke Suganuma(National institute of Polar Research), Osamu Kazaoka(Research Institute of Environmental Geology, Chiba), Chair:Makoto Okada(Department of Earth Sciences, Faculty of Science, Ibaraki University)

The Lower-Middle Pleistocene Boundary GSSP, which is placed to be around the Matuyama-Brunhes boundary, is going to be ratified in 2016. Three candidates (Montalbano Jonic, Valde di Manche and the Chiba Section) have been proposed so far. The aim of this session is to facilitate GSSP ratification at the Chiba Section through discussion for stratigraphic, chronologic and sedimentological studies regarding with the Mid Kazusa Group.
