In order to understand the earth system as well as to solve global environmental problems, it is necessary to develop and to promote a science dealing with "earth-life interactive system" as a holistic interacting system of space-sun-magnetosphere-atmosphere-hydrosphere-geosphere-biosphere. Through the seamless research among those disciplines, continuous nature of the boundaries and interactions between the disciplines has to be elucidated. Light and high energy particles from the sun and space are influencing to the earth surface temperature and the environment, supporting ecosystem through photosynthesis and other processes such as water cycle which is the most important material for life. On the other hand, upward transport of material and propagation of waves from the earth surface are influencing upper atmosphere and magnetosphere. Furthermore, global warming associated with increase of greenhouse gases is affecting the whole earth surface system including atmosphere, land, ocean and human society. Thus, it is necessary to understand why the earth environment is habitable and how it is changing through time scale of decades to millions of years. This session will discuss the direction of near future development of the "seamless science" through those wide disciplines.
