Sand grain analysis is important to recognize how common minerals and rock fragments for our daily life. Sea shore sand varied widely in grain composition and reflect the origin and formation process of the sand.
Sand grain analysis, using rupe and microscope, is effective in secondary and higher education to recognize what and how to make our land surface. It is needed to identify each grain to minerals or rock fragments, bioclasts. To see the sand grain will be a good introduction to Earth Science for school and life-long education in Japan.
