We have the geology class for undergraduate since 2013 at Keio Univ. The number of registrations of the class is more than 150 students who belong to various departments; literature, law, economics, commercial science, pharmacy and informatics. The student with background who learned geology in their high school days is half. I talk about all field of planet earth science from earth system to life history in the class. Furthermore I try to develop the talk from ocean-atmosphere phenomenon and climate variability until social impact and the political international trend like IPCC and SDGs as public science.

On the other hand, students can't understand the essence of the field science only at the session in the classroom. We design and produce the mini-field trip program supported by Keio senior high school geology class which can be done with 100 students within 90 minutes. The Hiyoshi–campus of Keio Univ. is located at the northern part of Yokohama city, on the higher oceanic terrace formed before 120 kyr under Last interglacial period, include many historical sites. All students try the rough trail course and the classroom practice about interpreting aerial photograph using stereoscope and microscopic analysis of some minerals. We show this program and the effect on their study.
