[HCG22-12] Geomorphologic Assessment for flood mitigation in low laying-fluvial plain

The flood vulnerability is still high because of their geomorphologic location and in this view, risk reduction in Greater Dhaka to protect sea level rise will be discussed considering structure measures and non-structure measures under disordered land use change. In this study area, urban sprawl has been pushing decreasing agricultural area and the area flood buffer zone has been rapidly declined. Compared with fluvial landform, former river courses are built-up for residential and industrial area. Urban area need appropriate governance policy for future land use planning.
