In order to deepen the understanding of the mechanism of geological disposal ,the geological environment in Japan and others, the government decided to show the scientific features in the form of a nationwide map. Then on July 28, 2017, "Nationwide map of Scientific Features relevant for Geological Disposal" was released. In this presentation, we explain the background and purpose of “Nationwide map” creation, the requirements / criteria used for map creation, the outline of map and so on.
