[HQR04-13] Stratigraphy, distribution pattern, and vibration property of Setagaya Formation, Tokyo, central Japan

We examined the stratigraphy and the distribution pattern of the Pleistocene Setagaya Formation beneath the Setagaya-ku, Tokyo Metropolis, central Japan. The Setagaya Formation is composed mainly of soft muddy sediments formed in a bay environment. Sedimentary facies and tephrostratigraphic and palynostratigraphic analysis reveal the detailed stratigraphy and the depositional process of the formation. The ground vibration properties in the distribution area of the Setagaya Formation and its surroundings were also examined by microtremor survey. We will make a presentation on the results of these examinations.
