*Asanobu Kitamoto1,2 (1.National Institute of Informatics, 2.Center for Open Data in the Humanities, Joint Support-Center for Data Science Research, Research Organization of Information and Systems)

Keywords:IIIF, IIIF Curation Viewer, Curation, High resolution image delivery, Himawari-8/9, Meteorological satellite

The presentation introduces IIIF Curation Viewer, which is useful not only cultural heritage resources but also for scientific resources such as satellite images. The presentation introduces the background of IIIF (International Image Interoperability Framework), and the development of open source software IIIF Curation Viewer to become the infrastructure. Then the presentation discusses the application of IIIF-based curation, such as a research tool, a static image gallery, and a time-lapse animation that captures the dynamics of meteorological phenomena.
