Historical Meteorological Data in Hokkaido and Sakhalin from 1854 to 1858 written on the official diaries of MURAGAKI Norimasa, a magistrate of the shogun were examined. They included data by thermometer and barometer. They are the earliest known weather data from instruments in this region of Japan.
