[O02-P58] Multifaceted function in the Woods for Field Practice Owned by Sagano H.S. ~Shrub-layer and Soil Erosion~

Keywords:rainfall, soil erosion

The Woods for Field Practice Owned by Sagano H.S confirmed the damage by wild deer. For example, the destruction of the lower layer vegetation. If the lower layer vegetation became more and more declined from now on, soil erosion occur. After that we may difficult to preserve the forest system. So, in this research, we grasp the lower layer vegetation situation and set a goal of making an effect which the existence of the lower layer vegetation prevent soil erosion because of rainfall. In the Woods for Field Practice Owned by Sagano H.S, more than eighty percent of the lower layer vegetation is pteridophyte. And most of them is made up of Dicranopteris linearis and Gleichenia japonica. We reproduced a rain reach terminal velocity to use a showerhead. As a result of this experiment, we confirmed that Fern plant weaken rainfall intensity and enhance the effect of soil erosion.
