[O02-P59] Multifaceted function in the Woods for Sagano H.S. ~Estimation of Basal Area and Aboveground Biomass~

About seventy years ago, people planted Japanese cedars and cypresses with the Woods of Field Practice Owned by Sagano H. S. These days, succession to broad leaves trees occurs in some places at this woods. However, it can be seemed that no one thinned out this woods until four years. The purposes of this research are to understand present vigor condition and find how we should maintain it in the future. We use Bitterlich sampling to measure biomass on the ground. Currently, we have surveyed the plane at the Woods and made more than 50 quadrat whose size is 5 square meters. We set a line census based on the quadrat and simply estimated diameter at breast height. To measure the tree height, we made regression line by using hand level and distance Meter, and tried to calculate the estimated value. These ways are effective, so we are analyzing the data gotten by them.
