[O06-P23] Activity of San'in Kaigan UGGp
The San’in Kaigan UGGp is a bounded area comprising the entire municipalities of Kyotango City in Kyoto Prefecture; Toyooka City, Kami Town, and Shin’onsen Town in Hyogo Prefecture; and Iwami Town in Tottori Prefecture; and the northern part of the municipality of Tottori City in Tottori Prefecture.
The San’in Kaigan UGGp provides territorial cohesion as an area featuring natural scenery with a wide variety of rocks, strata, coastal landforms, and inland waterfalls and gorges, which show the span of history from the times when the Japanese Archipelago was not yet separated from the Asian Continent, through the formation of the Japan Sea, to the present. The Geopark area has also been home to unique human lifestyles based on such natural features.
