[PPS04-09] Detailed analysis of long-term cloud evolution using Akatsuki / IR2 and Venus Express / VIRTIS-M-IR

A roughly 150 day periodicity in cloud opacity, determined from zonally-averaged radiance at 1.74 microns measured by VIRTIS-M-IR during the Venus Express mission has been reported previously by McGouldrick and Tsang, 2017. Here, we investigate the finer characteristics of this phenomenon, in light of observations of Venus made by the Akatsuki spacecraft. Evidence in support of and against previous and newly proposed explanations for the phenomenon will be discussed.
