[SSS08-21] Rediscovery of emerged boring bivalves at Cape Omaezaki, Shizuoka, Japan

*Akihisa Kitamura1 (1.Institute of Geosciences, Faculty of Science, Shizuoka University)

Keywords:emerged boring bivalves, Cape Omaezaki, 14C dating

In 1943, Imamura reported emerged boring shells from wave-cut platform in Cape Omaezaki, Shizuoka, central Japan, although no one has observed these shells. We found many in situ fossils of boring shells in sandstone at an elevation of 1.05–1.35 m above mean sea level at a wave-cut platform in the cape.
