Keywords:Kusatsu-Shirane Volcano, phreatic eruption, remote sensing, image analysis, vent location

We analyzed the eruption on January 23, 2018 at Kusatsu-Shirane volcano using airborne remote sensing. We identified the crater location of this eruption by aerial photograph interpretation. In addition, the distribution region of pyroclastic fall deposit was estimated by image analysis using near infrared wavelength.
