[U05-07] General aim of the journal publication by JpGU
★Invited Papers
Keywords: Journal, publication, PEPS, Impact factor
The earth system is so complicated that its phenomena show various aspects. Therefore multidimensional researches are inevitable to understand the current situation of the earth, to make the past clear and to predict the future. JpGU MUST tie up various specialized researches in each research field and raise those understandings to much higher dimension. Therefore JpGU launched our journal of PEPS in April 2014. It has been publishing original and review articles, which cover the research fields of Space and Planetary Sciences, Atmospheric and Hydrospheric Sciences, Human Geosciences, Solid Earth Sciences, Biogeosicences.
Following our recent inclusion in the Scopus database, we are very pleased to be able to tell you that the Japan Geoscience Union’s open-access e-journal Progress in Earth and Planetary Science (PEPS) has been accepted for indexing in the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE) database, one of the major databases of the Clarivate Analytics (formerly Thompson Reuters) Web of Science. We expect that our first Impact Factor will be announced next summer. Probably the value is just the middle between 2 and 3. We acknowledge all of you to submit the manuscripts and to cite the articles published in PEP. We would like to establish the first grade of our international journal of PEPS with all of you and to publish your valuable results in future. At the moment we can provide discount rate of submission fee for review papers and invited research papers.
Also JpGU would like to promote Japanese community of Earth and Planetary science to send important and valuable research results to global community. Therefore it has been making an effort to advertise activities by Japanese international journals at AGU/EGU/AOGS booths.
