[A-OS14] Coastal physical processes associated with mixing, eddies, internal waves
Wed. May 29, 2019 5:15 PM - 6:30 PM Poster Hall (International Exhibition Hall8, Makuhari Messe)
convener:Eiji Masunaga(Ibaraki University), Taira Nagai(Graduate School of Science, The University of Tokyo), TSUTSUMI EISUKE(Atmosphere and Ocean Research Institute, The University of Tokyo)
Recently developed observational and numerical approaches have revealed details of physical processes in coastal regions, which is a key to understanding global ocean circulations and ecosystems. This session aims to provide discussions of mixing, eddies, nonlinear internal waves in coastal and marginal oceans, estuaries and lakes. Observations, numerical modeling and laboratory experiments associated with these phenomena are encouraged to submit an abstract to this session. In addition, studies that consider linkages between coastal physical processes and large scale open ocean processes, e.g., the Kuroshio, global ocean circulations.
