[A-OS21] Physical, biogeochemical, and ecological aspects and their mutual relations in the Indian Ocean
Sun. May 26, 2019 5:15 PM - 6:30 PM Poster Hall (International Exhibition Hall8, Makuhari Messe)
convener:Yukio Masumoto(Graduate School of Science, The University of Tokyo), Hiroaki Saito(Atmosphere and Ocean Research Institute, The University of Tokyo), Iwao Ueki(JAMSTEC Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology)
Recent discovery of new climate modes and development of basin-scale and regional
observing systems in the Indian Ocean advance researches on physical, biogeochemical,
and ecological aspects of ocean variations. In addition, international and interdisciplinary
research programs in the Indian Ocean, such as IIOE-2 and EIOURI, are now being
conducted in earnest, under which the R/V Hakuho-maru cruise in the eastern Indian
Ocean will be took place in Nov./Dec. 2018, for better understanding of eastern Indian
Ocean conditions through multi-disciplinary approaches. This session invites papers on
physical, biogeochemical, and ecological aspects in the Indian Ocean and relations
among these elements of the ocean variations, to facilitate integrated understanding of
the Indian Ocean variability, as well as to stimulate collaborative researches among the
relevant scientists. Preliminary results from observation campaigns, a new perspective
on research collaboration, and/or sharing information on future observing activities are
also welcome.
