[U-04] Capture the fast process in Earth and planetary science
Wed. May 29, 2019 5:15 PM - 6:30 PM Poster Hall (International Exhibition Hall8, Makuhari Messe)
convener:Takashi Yoshino(Institute for Planetary Materials, Okayama University), Yoshinori Tange(Japan Synchrotron Radiation Research Institute)
Phenomena such as destruction, eruption and collision are catastrophic phenomena, which is different from geological phenomena like mantle convection. However, global phenomena such as meteorite collisions characterised by extinction of dinosaurs were caused not only by long-term fluctuations but also by such a dramatic high-speed phenomenon. It is also important to understand the high-speed dynamics in order to consider evolution of the Earth and disaster prevention. Now it has become possible to capture fast phenomena from femtosecond to several minutes scale under the extreme condition with progress of synchrotron radiation technology. The purpose of this session is that comprehensively understand high-speed dynamics from many methods such as material science / observation / numerical model.
