[H-DS09] Landslides and related phenomena
Tue. May 28, 2019 3:30 PM - 5:00 PM Poster Hall (International Exhibition Hall8, Makuhari Messe)
convener:Masahiro Chigira(Disaster Prevention Research Institute, Kyoto University), Gonghui Wang(Disaster Prevention Research Institute, Kyoto University), Fumitoshi Imaizumi(Faculty of Agriculture, Shizuoka University)
Mass movements, such as landslides, rockfalls, and debris flows, have been occurring extensively in a large number of countries, causing heavy damage. In order to understand them and mitigate induced disasters, we invite contributions that report and discuss on mass movements and related phenomena, focusing on improved understanding of their characteristics; new insights into landslide mechanisms; the development of new approaches to monitoring; novel approaches to behavior forecasting and prediction; studies of successful landslide management; and the development of methods for hazard and risk evaluation. In particular, papers about recent landslide hazards, induced by 2017 northern Kyushu rainstorm, 2018 Osaka earthquake, 2018 western Japan rainstorm, and 2018 Hokkaido earthquake are welcome.
