In the year 2018, we experienced severe rainfalls in July and severe typhoons in September in West Japan, which impressed us that severe storm and flood disasters have been intensifying. Will such severe disasters intensify in future? We will discuss how to cope with intensifying storm and flood disasters. All the oral presentations are invited talks by the specialists in the Japan Geoscience Union (JpGU), and the Japan Academic Network for Disaster Reduction (JANET-DR) which was established in 2016. We will also exhibit poster presentations of various research activities in JpGU and JANET-DR.
