[AAS01-P04] An objective Frontal Analysis Techniques and Application in Model Verification

This paper presents an objective Frontal analysis method based on pressure field for east Asia. Comparing to methods based on thermo-dynamical elements such as temperature, the method developed in this paper can avoid the complex affection from sea-land and landform. The method will be used to identification of fronts in analysis and prediction of ECMWF model all over 2015, and then model error of predicted fronts will be verification. The verification result show that, comparing to analysis field, the moving speed of fronts in prediction field of ECMWF model is slower and strength is weaker.
