The EarthCARE (Earth Clouds, Aerosols and Radiation Explorer, JAXA-ESA) mission will carry the first 94GHz Doppler Cloud Profiling Radar (CPR) with a high spectral resolution atmospheric lidar (ATLID) at 355nm. Recent progresses in EarthCARE L2 cloud/precipitation algorithms for the treatment of multiple scattering and cloud particle nonsphericity are presented.
